Garden Consultation

I offer a range of garden consultant services to assist you with your pond and water garden projects. Offering advice and expertise on areas like siting your pond, the type of pond, building, maintaining and planting up your pond and any surrounding garden areas. This service can be delivered in the following ways:

• Local site visits - I am happy to visit your project site in the Tavistock and surrounding area and offer advice in person.
• Zoom and phone consultation - You can send through photos of your site and we can discuss specifics about your project.

My consultation rate is £20 per hour.

Garden Design and Planting Plans

Alongside consultation, I offer a garden design service where I create bespoke planting plans for your specific garden projects. With years of experience in garden design and creating planting plans I enjoy working with customers to take on board their desires and ideas and bring them to life.

The design service is free for those purchasing the plants through the nursery. If you prefer to supply your own plants that is not a problem and we can discuss a fee just for the design that is affordable for you.

Here are a selection of ongoing and past design projects:

Large natural pond project I am currently designing a planting plan for this large natural pond including the margins and bank edges. The customer has requested a natural style planting scheme with interest lasting from spring until autumn. This project will be planted up in the spring 2021. Three pond planting design This project was a collection of three ponds that fed into each other via small waterfalls. After an initial site visit and meeting with the customers to understand their vision for the space, I designed a bespoke planting scheme. The design included deep water plants, marginal plants and a range of moisture loving plants for the surrounding areas. The nursery supplied or sourced the plants and the project was planted up in March 2020. This photograph was taken just a few months after planting. Small Garden Pond This project was actually undertaken in our own back garden to create a small garden pond suitable for goldfish. Dug out by hand the pond has a deep central section and different level ledges and marginal areas. We use a range of plants suitable for a small pond with fish. This photo was taken just 3 months after it was finished showing that it doesnt take long for the pond to settle down and plants to become established.
